Mr. William Edward “Bill” Warren, Jr. 71, of St. Simons Island, formerly of Waycross, passed away Wednesday morning, December 20, 2023, at his residence.
Born in Dublin, GA on May 4, 1952, he lived in Blackshear then Waycross prior to moving to St. Simons Island two years ago. Bill was the owner and operator of The Headliners Hair Salon for 51 years and the number of clients he served during that time is surely staggering. He also had a flare for interior decorating and had enjoyed numerous projects over the years including decorating the First United Methodist Church in Blackshear (which he was a member of) for Christmas as well as decorating the church parsonage.
He was a son of the late William Edward Warren, Sr. and Willene Taylor Warren O’Neal. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Irene Rowell; and a brother, Wayne Warren.
Survivors include his two daughters, Jessica Moss of Savannah and Sarah (David) Yawn of Jesup; his son, William Edward “Eddie” Warren, III of Hinesville; a sister, Krissy (Jerry) Wilson of Waycross; his brother, Jimmy (Debbie) Warren of Jacksonville, FL; his former wife and friend, Cindy (James) Weber of Scottsdale, AZ; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth James, Charlie Moss, and Landon Yawn; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will celebrate Bill’s life on Monday afternoon, January 15, 2024, at 6 o’clock from the First United Methodist Church in Blackshear with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell, Mrs. Alisa Hancock, and Mrs. Carolyn McCuller officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 Monday afternoon at the church.
The family kindly requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Parsonage Committee, PO Box 127, Blackshear, GA 31516.
