William "Bill" Pittman Obituary

Mr. William Edward “Bill” Pittman, 83 of Patterson, passed away late Wednesday evening, April 8, 2020, at Harborview of Pierce County.
 
Born in Waycross, GA on January 3, 1937, he had lived in Pierce County since April 1993.  Mr. Pittman was a retired US Marine with 22 years of service and was a member of the US Marine Corp Association and the VFW.  He loved his wife and missed her every second of every minute since she passed away.  He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.    
 
He was a son of the late Tracy Edward Pittman & June Perry Pittman.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Lucille McKnight Pittman; a son, Charles B. Duke; a brother, Tracy Edward "Eddie" Pittman, Jr.; and his step-mother, Beatrice Redmond Pittman.
 
Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Timmy & Jessica Duke of Beaufort, SC; two sisters, Linda (Gene) Youmans and Rhonda & Dave Lawson all of Brunswick; three brothers, Charles (Sheila) Pittman and Donald (Diane) Pittman all of Brunswick, and Richard (Kathy) Pittman of Waynesville, GA; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Duke, Brittany (Joy) Duke, and James (Ryan) Duke; 4 great grandchildren, Camdon, Conner, Emory, and Cooper; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
 
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a funeral service for Mr. Pittman when it is deemed safe for all who would like to attend.   Full military honors will be conducted by the US Marines in honor of their fallen brother.
 
He will be interred next to his beloved wife in the Oakland Cemetery on Friday, April 10, 2020.

Mr. Pittman’s family would like to thank the staff of Harborview Pierce County for all of their love and care shown to him during his stay.  They feel the staff went above and beyond, especially during these trying times, and deserve all the praise and recognition possible.  “Thank you” from the bottom of their hearts and “God Bless You All”.
