Mr. William Scott “Scotty” Herring, 46 of Patterson, passed away late Wednesday evening, November 18, 2020, at St, Vincent’s Medical Center – Riverside.
Born in Jacksonville, FL on August 27, 1974, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Scotty had worked in construction for Jake Dixon (and the late Marshall Dixon) as well as for Carlos Leggett over the years. He had been a licensed pilot and had loved flying in his spare time. He also loved all kinds of music and always wanted his grandchildren to be in his “band” and have a love for music like he did. Scotty loved spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren, and had enjoyed visiting with friends and family as much as he could. He was a member of Laura Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his three children, Josie Fulton of Alma, Turin Herring of Patterson, and Will Herring (Amber Carpenter) of Patterson; his mother, Cheryl Scarbrough (Ruel) Martin of Swainsboro; Dewayne (Jeanne) Harris of Clarksville, GA who he was raised by; his sister, Cherae L. (Winton) Herrin of Brunswick; his brother, Ray (Rachael) Herring, Jr. of Temple, TX; 3 grandchildren with his fourth one due June 27, 2021, Kaylee Carpenter, Karter Herring, and Carson Ferguson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will have a visitation for Scotty on Friday evening, November 27, 2020, from 5 until 7 at the Laura Chapel Baptist Church. Friends and family will have a time to share their memories of Scotty.
