Mr. Tommy J. Walling, Sr., affectionally known as “Mr. Tommy”, age 66, passed away after a short, courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 25th, 2021, at Hospice Satilla House in Waycross, Ga. Prior to his cancer diagnosis, Mr. Tommy had been sick for many years.

Tommy lived most of his life in Pierce County. He was retired.

Tommy loved Jesus Christ and served the Lord in mighty ways. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and cherished all his friends there. Tommy was a patriot and loved his country, the United States of America, and proudly displayed our American flag. He loved people and was a dear friend to many. He always had a smile for them and was a great listener.

Tommy dearly loved and cherished his family. He was a devoted son, husband, daddy, and papa. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 42 years, Cheryl Wright Walling; a son, Tommy J. Walling, Jr. (Meg) of Atlanta, Ga; a daughter, Katie Aldridge (Bradley) of Statesboro, Ga; four grandchildren, Lainey, Hayden, Brayden, and Kolten Aldridge; and grandpups, Twiggy, Hiro, Layla, Sugar, and Maverick. He is also survived by his father, Sr. Master Sergeant William R. Walling, Sr.; his brothers, Bill Walling and Douglas Walling (Terrie) all of Jesup, Ga and Michael Walling (Debbie) of Tampa, Fl.; a sister, Henrietta Garrison; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Tommy and Cheryl adopted a very special and dear family, Ashlie, Christopher, Caleb, and Blake Mudge. They will always remain as family.

Richards Brooker; stepfather-in-law, Leston Brooker; father-in-law, Charles Wright; brother-in-law, John Wright; a special aunt, Kathleen E.
