Tommie Williamson Obituary

Mr. Tommie Edward “Booger” Williamson, 74 of Blackshear, passed away late Monday evening, April 25, 2022, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah.

Born in Waycross, GA on September 22, 1947, he had lived in Jacksonville prior to moving to Pierce County in 1969.  Mr. Williamson was a 1966 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville and would go on to serve in the US Army for 3 years during the Vietnam conflict.  Following his discharge from the Army, Mr. Williamson began his career with the railroad which saw him retiring after 50 years of service.

Mr. Williamson was known for keeping the roads hot while visiting people (which he loved to do), going to auctions, and donating blood for the American Red Cross.  He was a huge collecting (borderline hoarder, uh huh), coffee drinking, good food eating, cell phone playing, Westerns watching, animal loving man.  Mr. Williamson was very proud of his children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.  He so enjoyed picking them up from school and going to their sporting events as well as going on family vacations, especially the beach, and family reunions.  Mr. Williamson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – Waycross First Ward.

He was the son of the late Tommie & Dorothy Mae Tyson Williamson.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Diane Harris Williamson.

Survivors include his two daughters, Nikki Williamson (Michelle Dykstra) and Morgan (Stephen) Taylor all of Blackshear; his son, Philip (Kim) Williamson of Patterson; his sister, Donna (Ronnie) Baity of Jacksonville; two brothers-in-law, Terry (Debbie) Harris and Rex Harris all of Waycross; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Brice Williamson, Rolston Taylor, Brayden “Peanut” Williamson, Ryleigh Taylor, and Ryker Tayler; his pet cat, Fluffy; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Williamson will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
