Mr. Thomas Franklin “Rab” Boatright, 78 of Patterson, passed away Tuesday evening, November 9, 2021, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Blackshear, GA on September 9, 1943, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. A retired timberman, Mr. Boatright had owned and operated Boatright Timber Company for many years. He dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and was the sweetest man to them. Hunting and fishing were his favorite things to do most of his life and he had so enjoyed doing them over the years with his brothers, sons, grandsons, and nephews. Mr. Boatright was of the Baptist faith.
He was a son of the late Robert Fulton & Alma Lorene Sims Boatright, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anne Whitfield Boatright; a son, Leslie Boatright; three sisters, Janice Boatright, Mary Floyd, and Eula Murray; and all six of his brothers, Purdom Boatright, Earl Boatright, Daniel Boatright, Paul Boatright, Hollis Boatright, and Robert Fulton Boatright, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Anna Maria Boatright of Patterson; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg & Lisa Boatright of Patterson; four sisters, Dale O’Steen and Barbara (Jerry) Gilliard all of Blackshear, Pat (Rick) Phillips of Waycross, and Shirley Walker of Jamestown; three sisters-in-law, Sybil Boatright and Laquita Boatright both of Blackshear and Barbara Boatright of Waycross; 3 grandchildren, Hunter Boatright, Tyler Boatright, and Maggie Boatright; 2 great grandchildren, Browning Boatright and Gabbi Boatright; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Graveside services for Mr. Boatright will be held Friday morning, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
