Mrs. Teresa Zettie “Terri” Sloan, 66, of Mershon, passed away Saturday afternoon, January 13, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Waycross, GA on May 6, 1957, she lived in Pierce County for most of her life. Terri loved to cook, and work on crossword puzzles and word search puzzles. She knew her Bible from front to back. She will be remembered as always happy and laughing, and willing to give a hug and an “I love you” to everyone, but especially her grandbabies.
She was a daughter of the late Eldon and Minnie Lee Hayman Crosby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Jed Sloan; an infant son; 2 great-grandsons, Camden Torres, and Kayden Lewis; and a sister, Cathy Bickford.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Mandy (Travis) Thompson, April Zettie Strickland, and Cindy Sloan, all of Mershon; a sister, Linda Spence of Waycross; 2 brothers, David (Sheila) Crosby of Millwood, and Michael Crosby of Waresboro; 2 sisters-in-law, Sue (George) Berry of Alabama and Teresa Emmons of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Alaina (Carlos) Torres, Jacque Mackey, Jr., Breanna (Asa) Washington, Kenzleigh Sloan, and Wilbert Juan Sloan; 6 great-grandchildren, CJ Torres, Braylee Torres, Rae’ven Mackey, Maddison Mackey, Aubree Lewis, and Asa Washington, Jr.; a special friend, Carolette Schuman of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sloan will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 3:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Smith officiating.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 18, 2024, from 6 until 8 o’clock.
Interment will be in the Foster Cemetery.
