Susan "Suzy" Joan (Payne) Johns

Ms. Susan Joan “Suzy” Payne Johns, 67, of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, at Baptist Village Nursing Home.

Born in Red Bank, NJ on September 30, 1957, she lived in Pierce County since 2002.  Suzy worked with her dad in the floor waxing business in her teens and later made dentures before becoming a FTD certified floral designer.  Over the years she worked for the Shamrock Flower Shop, The Potting Shed, and Pierce County Floral.  Suzy enjoyed going to the beach, listening to all kinds of music, and doing crafts.  She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and was proud to be their “Ganny”.

She was a daughter of the late Felton Brown Payne & Jeanne Marie Faser Payne. 

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Danielle & Rev. Buddy Griner of Patterson; her son and daughter-in-law, Kyle & Cassidy Johns of Ohio; two sisters, Jill (David) Witt of Kentucky and Betty (Doug) Buchan of New Jersey; 7 grandchildren, Anna Beth (Blaine) Mercer, Jasper Griner, Jedidiah Griner, Joshua Griner, Judah Griner, Addison Johns, and Lincoln Johns; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening, March 28, 2025, from 6 until 8 o’clock.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
