Mr. Steven DeWayne “Steve” Pearson, 64, of Blackshear, passed away early Monday morning, August 5, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Hollywood, FL on June 5, 1960, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Steve was a 1978 graduate of Blackshear High School. Over the years, he had worked for General Box, Wal-Mart Distribution, and Swisher. Steve received his CDL’s and worked as a truck driver for several years, retiring when he turned 62. Not one to just sit idly by, he started his own lawn care business, Legendary Lawn Service, which he was still operating at the time of his passing. Steve loved his clients and was grateful for them and their friendship. He never passed up an opportunity to help someone in need or lend a hand. He adored his wife, daughters, and granddaughter and was his girls’, “Big Daddy”; and his granddaughter’s, “Big Pa”. Steve loved to fish, was an avid grill master, and an excellent cook. He was just an all-around good guy with a big heart. Steve was of the Christian faith.
He was a son of the late Lowell & Eula Dell “Tootsie” Dixon Pearson, Jr. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Leroy “Jimmy” Pearson.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Michelene Raulerson Pearson of Blackshear; two daughters, Lindsay (Matt) Davis of Alpharetta and Bethany Pearson (fiancé, J. T. Conrad) of Savannah; his sister, Karen (Duley) Carter of Alma; his granddaughter, Layken Blaire Davis and her sister who Steve was so excited to get to meet on August 15th, Saylor Davis; his mother-in-law, Maria Johns (James) Cook of Blackshear; his father-in-law, Wade (Ann) Raulerson of Blackshear; his brother-in-law, Steven (Lucrecia) Raulerson of Blackshear; nieces and nephews, J.
