Sidney Lynn "Bony" Pendergrass

Mr. Sidney Lynn “Bony” Pendergrass, 72, of Hoboken, passed away Monday evening, June 22, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Henderson, NC on May 12, 1954, he lived in Immokalee, FL prior to  moving to Hoboken in 1999.  Mr. Pendergrass worked as mechanic for many years before becoming a truck driver working for Waycross Recycling.

He loved drag racing, watching westerns, and spending time with is family – especially his grandchildren who he loved to aggravate.

He was a son of the late Horace Vernon & Hila Brown Pendergrass, Sr.  He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Greg Pendergrass, Robert Wayne Pendergrass, Scott Randal Pendergrass, and Horace Vernon Pendergrass, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sandra “Sandy” Pendergrass of Hoboken; his daughter, Carrie L. Faucette (Charles C. Ivey) of Henderson, NC; four sons, Stuart (Shayla) Pendergrass, Stanly Pendergrass, Scott Pendergrass, and Rusty Burrell all of Hoboken; a sister, Vera (Mike) Jones of Henderson; a brother, David (Betsy) Pendergrass of Henderson; a sister-in-law, Janet Anstead Pendergrass of Henderson; 11 grandchildren, Seth T. Martinez (Amy C. Sutton), Shaun S. Martinez (Vivi N. Chavez), Angela D. Martinez (Michael Garcia-Martinez), Hunter R. (Makayla A.) Faucette, Kyleigh “Munk”, Kylah “Little Sister”, Kyler “Boogie”, Kyzer “Bubby”, Kymber “Ol grandma”, Calissa, and Conner Pendergrass; 4 great grandchildren, Tayler C. Martinez, Allie L. Martinez, Zane N. Martinez, and Angel A. Faucette; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 4th, from 3 to 5 at Anchor Baptist Church in Blackshear.

Memorialization is by cremation.
