Ms. Shirley Jean Tuten, 73, of Waycross, GA, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020, at her residence.
Born in Bristol, GA on August 1, 1946, she had lived in St. Augustine, FL for several years before moving to Waycross in 2008. Ms. Tuten was a homemaker and was a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church. She loved to cook and dearly loved her family.
She was a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin & Myrtle Ophelia Griffin Tuten. She was also preceded in death by her son, Greg Phillips; two sisters, Nela Winn and Sue Nell McDonald; and all three of her brothers, Luther Tuten, Benjamin Tuten, and Loran Tuten.
Survivors include two sisters, Elise Geeslin of Greenwood, MS and Cheryl (Holly) Kelly of St. Augustine; 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne Phillips, Daulton Phillips, and Robyn (Greg) Rowell; 2 great grandchildren, Cassie Rowell and Jaxon Rowell; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
Ms. Tuten’s family will have a memorial service at a later time.
