Mrs. Shirley Rachel Cason Douberly, 70, of Blackshear, passed away late Thursday evening, December 19, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.
Born in Waycross, GA on March 31, 1954, she lived in Pierce County all her life. Mrs. Douberly was a former cook for Jerry J’s Restaurant and was a member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Harborview- Pierce County Nursing Home and watching NASCAR. Mrs. Douberly loved being with family and friends, especially cooking for them, and listening to George Strait.
She was a daughter of the late Raymond Monroe & Betty Ray Lee Cason. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wylley Douberly; a sister, Betty Ann Tucker; a brother, Larry Cason; and a cousin, Carmon Cannon.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Christine “Chris” & Jay Turner of Blackshear; her sister and brother-in-law, Gloria & Mitchell Lovell of Sylvester; her brother, Raymond Dewitt Cason of Blackshear; twin grandchildren, Tristan Turner and Taylor Turner; niece and nephews, Holly (Drew) Ellis of Tifton, and Brad Lovell and Brandon Lovell both of Sylvester; a special cousin, Rusty Bennett of Waycross; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Douberly will be held Monday afternoon, December 23, 2024, at 2:00 o’clock from the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
Visitation for Mrs. Douberly will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in Rehobeth Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jay Turner, Tristan Turner, Brad Lovell, Brandon Lovell, Larry Turner, and Jerry Carver.
