It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ms. Sherry Lynn Baskin Nettles, 66, of Brunswick, announces her death on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, following a brief illness.
Born in Boynton Beach, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Milton Baskin and Marlene Smith Baskin. A 1974 graduate of Glynn Academy, Sherry later attended the Texas Bible College and earned a degree in biblical studies. She met and married David Pearson, and from this union, was born three children, who she loved and adored. Sherry was a long-time member of the United Pentecostal Church and served in various capacities within the church. Over the past several years, Sherry suffered many health issues, and through every trial, her trust and faith in God remained steadfast. She was a prayer warrior and intercessor for many; her love for others unconditional. Among many wonderful attributes, Sherry will be remembered for being that lady with unwavering strength, her smile and laughter, and having such a melodious voice that not only captured the heart of those listening, but the God she worshipped and served.
Survivors include her children, Nathan Pearson, Tammi Sanders (Glenn), and Michael Pearson; grandchildren, Stephanie Dupriest (Bryan), Elias Pearson, and Finn Pearson; great-grandchildren, Emma Dupriest, Jaxsen Dupriest, and Maddox Dupriest; a sister, Meg Evans (Jimmy); a brother, Randy Baskin; aunts, Earlene Horan (Henry), and Willene Smith (R.D.); and her former husband and best friend, Christopher Nettles.
Funeral services for Ms. Nettles will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, November 12, 2022, in the United Pentecostal Church of Brunswick, with the Reverends Danny Webster and Warnie Nettles officiating. Honored to serve as casket bearers are Joshua Nettles, Jonathan Nettles, Lamar Sanders, Glenn Sanders, Simon Younce, Jordan Sarro, Sheldon Barber, and Jimmy Evans. Musical selections will be rendered by Elaine Branch, Meg Baskin, and Christopher Nettles. The interment will be held at three o’clock in the afternoon in Waters Cemetery in Blackshear.
The family is pleased to receive friends at the church on Saturday from nine o’clock in the morning until the funeral hour.
