Shelly Virginia (Smart) Dixon

Mrs. Shelly Virginia Smart Dixon, 49 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Born in Waycross, GA on June 14, 1971, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life.  Shelly was a 1990 graduate of Pierce County High School and had worked in the home health field as a CNA for a few years but had spent the last several years being a housewife.  She loved to shop, spend time with her family – especially her grandbabies, aunts and cousins, going to the beach, and taking care of her pet dogs.  She was of the Baptist faith. 

She was a daughter of the late Linton Hugh Smart; and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Dixon.

Survivors include her husband, Revis Dixon, Jr. of Blackshear; her daughter, Brittany Peacock (Jerrell Wilson) of Blackshear; three sons, Brock Peacock (Becky Clark) of Blackshear, Brandon (Giovanna) Peacock of Beverly, NJ, and Trey (Jennifer) Dixon of Waycross; her mother & step-father, Mary Howell & Woodson Dixon of Blackshear; her sister, Helen (Duane) Arnold of Blackshear; her brother, Link (Ginger) Smart of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, Brayden Peacock, Taylan Peacock, Bailee Peacock, Gracie Wilson, Adalynn Wilson, Axton Dixon, Rilynn Dixon, Michael Thrift, Leroy Thrift, Tori Thrift, and Conner Crosby; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Shelly will be held Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2021, at 2 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5-7 at the funeral home.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing guidelines as well as the use of facemasks is strongly suggested.
