Ms. Sharon Cynthia Boatright, 66 of Waycross, formerly of Bristol, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Marietta, GA on September 3, 1955, she had grown up all over the country due to her father being in the military. New Mexico, Hawaii, Miami, Jacksonville, were some of the cities she had lived in over the years. She finally settled in Bristol where she made her home for forty-five years prior to moving to Waycross in October of last year. Ms. Boatright was a 1973 graduate of Palmetto Senior High School in Miami and went on to receive her Associates Degree from Waycross College. Over the years she had worked for The Blackshear Times, Blackshear Family Practice, Brumbeloe and Associates, and Satilla Regional Medical Center but her most notable job was being a caretaker to all who needed it. Ms. Boatright loved sewing, growing flowers and gardening, and was an excellent cook. She was a member of Bristol Baptist Church where she had been very active with Vacation Bible School, the Youth Choir, the Puppet Ministry, as well as teaching Sunday school. Over the last few years, she attended Patterson Baptist Church.
She was a daughter of the late Robert & Ruth Juanita Nichols Boatright.
Survivors include two daughters, April (Greg) Berneche and Amy Taylor all of Waycross; two sons, Caleb (Brittany) Boatright of Waycross and Julian Boatright of Bristol; her brother, Robert Anthony “Tony” (Judith Ann Marin) Boatright of Ocala; her sister, Teresa (Julian) Rodriquez of Jupiter, FL; 6 grandchildren, Paige (Jeffrey) Bowers, Bud Carver, Briana Lee, Ethan Lee, McKinley Taylor, and Paxton Taylor; 3 great grandchildren, Paisley Bowers, Cooper Bowers, and Tatum Bowers who will make his appearance in two weeks; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Ms. Boatright will be held Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2022, at 2:00 o’clock from the Patterson Baptist Church with Rev. R. C. James officiating.
Visitation for Ms. Boatright will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
