Scott Hamilton Thornton, Sr.

Mr. Scott Hamilton Thornton, Sr., 56, of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning, January 8, 2024, at his residence.

Born in Waycross, GA on July 6, 1967, he lived in Pierce County all his life.  Scott was a trim saw operator for Coastal Vinyl and Truss.  He loved the ocean, deep sea fishing, as well as freshwater fishing.  Scott also loved sports, watching movies, and just riding the roads.  He was a good friend who would help anyone in need and give you the shirt off of his back.

He was a son of the late Robert Donald & Annette Kimbrell Thornton, Sr.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robbie Thornton.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Samantha & Dylan Hill of Jesup; two sons, Scott Thornton, Jr. of Jesup and Ryan Shumaker of Texas; two brothers, DeWayne (Jamie) Crisp of Patterson and Timmy Crisp of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a sister-in-law, Brenda Thornton of Patterson; a special friend and her daughter, Wanda Holloway and Gina Holloway both of Patterson; 3 grandchildren including Matthew Allen; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service for Scott will be held at a later date.  

Memorialization will be by cremation.
