Mr. Scott Darrell Dunham, Jr., 82, of Patterson, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday evening, August 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 4, 1943, in Brighton, Michigan, Mr. Dunham spent most of his life in Michigan before moving to Arkansas in 2006 and later making his home in Pierce County in 2019. After high school and trade school, he proudly served in the United States Navy. He later worked as a machinist and tool & die maker with General Motors, where he built a long career before retiring.
Mr. Dunham was an avid gun collector who also enjoyed reloading his own ammunition. He had a passion for gardening, especially tending to his fruit trees, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family—most especially fishing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Darrell Dunham, Sr. and Ruth Vivian Wilkinson Dunham, as well as his sister, Shirley McDuff.
Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted wife of 47 years, Lanita Rickman Dunham of Patterson; two daughters, Heather Dunham of Michigan and DeAnna (Thomas) Wright of Columbus, GA; two sons, Russell Dunham of Michigan and Thomas (Shaunna) Dunham of Blackshear; a sister, Lori (Mikey) Williamson of Stockbridge, MI; a brother, Jim (Brenda) Dunham of Howell, MI; five beloved grandchildren, Amina Wright, Ethan Dunham, Aubree Dunham, Callum Wright, and Evan Dunham; along with several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Patterson Baptist Church with Rev. Vance Colley officiating. Family and friends are invited to share memories during the service. The family will receive visitors one hour prior.
Mr. Dunham will be remembered through cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that wind chimes be given as a lasting tribute.
