Saundra Ann (Bowen) Aldrich

Ms. Saundra Ann Bowen Aldrich, 79, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, December 4, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Blackshear, GA on April 8, 1943, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Ms. Aldrich was a graduate of Blackshear High School. She retired as an LPN at Satilla Regional Medical Center, where she worked for 17 years. She loved auctions, spending time with her grandchild, and going to the mountains. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, especially her daylilies and gerbera daisies. Ms. Aldrich was a member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Reverend Kermit Leon and Margaret "Maggie" Thomas Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Wynan “J.W.” Bowen, and a grandson, B.J. Dixon.   

Survivors include her three daughters, Stephanie Aldrich & Charlton “Butch” Blocker of Jesup, Lori Aldrich and Lisa Aldrich both of Brunswick; a great grandson, Cohen Dixon; a special niece, Bridgette (Timmy) Lee; a special nephew, Jimmy Bowen; two great nieces and a great nephew, Maggie (Mark) Harrell, Jessica Pittman, and Hugh (Danielle) Lee; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Aldrich will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 6, 2022, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Visitation for Ms. Aldrich will be held in the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery.
