Mrs. Ruthie Mae Aldridge Sapp, 84 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, July 3, 2022, at Harborview Nursing Home in Blackshear, GA.
Born in Blackshear, GA on March 11, 1938, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Mrs. Sapp was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, gardening, and going to the beach in her younger years. She had attended Youmans Chapel Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a daughter of the late Isham and America Gill Aldridge. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carl Sapp; her sister, Kathleen Paige; and four brothers, Leroy Aldridge, Buddy Aldridge, Clarence Aldridge, and Allen Aldridge.
Survivors include her four sons, Kenneth (Judy) Sapp of Jacksonville, FL, Mark (Mary) Sapp of Patterson, and Eric (Mysti) Sapp, and Greg (Carmen) Sapp all of Blackshear; a sister, Doris Aldridge of Patterson; three brothers, Grady Aldridge of Texas, Lonnie Aldridge of Jacksonville, FL, and Walter Aldridge of Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Regina Newman (Paul), Carly Gall (Jesse), Kenny Sapp (Katy), Melissa Todd (Travis), Bradi Sykes (Peyton), Weston Sapp, and Sean Sapp; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sapp will be held Wednesday morning, July 6, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Sapp will be held at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be her four sons, Kenneth Sapp, Mark Sapp, Eric Sapp, and Greg Sapp.
