Roxie Faye (Manning) Riggins

Mrs. Roxie Faye Manning Riggins, 83, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday evening, August 19, 2023, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.

Born in Blackshear, GA on April 1, 1940, she lived in Pierce County most of her life.  Mrs. Riggins was a 1959 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a homemaker.  She loved to shop and travel – especially to the mountains or on a cruise.  A people person, she loved going out to eat and to go dancing.  Mrs. Riggins was a founding member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church where she had been in the Ladies Sunday school class.  She dearly loved her family and her church family.

She was a daughter of the late Zoie Lee Peacock Manning.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nichols Lawton “Ray” Riggins, Jr.; three sisters, Waunell Sapp, Maudelle Crosby, and Jeanette McQuaig; and both of her brothers, Estes Fulton Manning and Charles Gleen Manning.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky & Raymond Walsh and Cindy & Kevin Royster all of Blackshear; a sister, Betty Sue Fraley of Waycross; a brother-in-law, Donald Crosby of Blackshear; 4 grandchildren, Cole (Priscilla) Walsh, Kandace Royster, Kimberly (Travis) Trammell, and Kyle (Breanna) Royster; 2 great grandchildren, Griffin Walsh and Koda Royster; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services for Mrs. Riggins will be held Monday afternoon, August 21, 2023, at 3:00 o’clock from the Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Monroe Gill officiating.

The family will be receiving friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
