Roger Herrin Obituary

Mr. Roger Henry Herrin, 76, of Hoboken, passed away late Saturday evening, December 14, 2024, at Kindred Hospital of North Florida in Green Cove Springs.

Born in Blackshear, GA on January 18, 1948, he lived in Pierce and Brantley Counties for most of his life.  A graduate of Patterson High School, he served in the United States Army during Vietnam.  Following his military service, he went to work as a boilermaker, retiring as a supervisor from US Boiler & Tube. Mr. Herrin enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or farming.  He loved all genres of music, from the “oldies” to country to rock-n-roll, as well as watching Westerns. Most importantly, he loved his family and loved to joke around and make people laugh.

He was a son of the late Ivey Watson “Smoke” and Madie Pearson Herrin.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Linda Wasdin Herrin; a sister, Marilyn Jennings; and two brothers, David Earl Herrin and Robert “Rocky” Herrin.

Survivors include his children, Wendy Herrin and Jesse (Tracie) Herrin, all of Hoboken; two sisters, Paulette Harris of Waycross, and Selma (Doug) Woodward of Hilliard, FL; three brothers, Donald (Jane) Herrin of Jacksonville, FL, and Newbern Herrin and Randy (Kathy) Herrin all of Patterson; 5 grandchildren, Caleb Herrin, Brandon Herrin, Jordan Christian, KJ Christian, and Jaylen Christian; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
