Robert Louis “Robbie” Wasden, Jr., 64, of Blackshear, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Jacksonville, FL on March 5, 1961, he lived in Charleston, SC for several years before returning to Pierce County ten years ago.  Robbie was a 1979 graduate of Patterson High School.  Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served for six years.  While in Charleston, Robbie worked for the Ashley Oaks Apartments as a maintenance technician.  He loved being outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, or working in the yard and tending to flowers.  Robbie was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Louis Wasden, Sr.; and by a nephew, Devin Crews.

Survivors include his son, Blake Wasden of Midland, TX; his mother and step-father, Agnes and Grady Strickland of Blackshear; three sisters, Debbie Crews and Tina (Wally) Dixon both of Blackshear and Cindy (Nick) Kittle of Rocky Mount, NC; two brothers, John Strickland of Jackson, GA and Kevin (Mandy) Strickland of Shelbyville, TN; 4 grandchildren, Anastacie, Shiloh, Roxy, and Reiner Wasden; 11 nieces and nephews, Dara (Leve) Boatright, Tori (Tyler) White, Buck Dixon, Brittany Duncan, Allen (Cammi) Duncan, Sydney Lewis, Shelby Strickland, Savannah Strickland, Ethan Strickland, Maggie Strickland, and Zeke Strickland; and several great nieces & nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Robbie will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Sasser and Mr. Kevin Strickland officiating.

Visitation will be held in the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Buck Dixon, Eddie Sapp, W.T. Sapp, Greg Sweat, Hunter Crews, and David Boulware.
