Robert Dale "Rob" Tomlinson

Mr. Robert Dale “Rob” Tomlinson, 60, of Hoboken, passed away suddenly Saturday evening, July 29, 2023, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Fort Meade, MD on June 29, 1963, he grew up in Palatka, FL but had lived in Hoboken for the past twenty years.  Mr. Tomlinson had been a mechanic most of his adult life and for the last six months had owned and operated his own business, The Engine Doctor.  Work was his hobby but he also enjoyed fishing, watching Georgia Bulldog football, being with family & friends, and spoiling his grandchildren.  Mr. Tomlinson was a simple man who liked the little things in life.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a son of the late Pauline Nadine Kilgore Tomlinson. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Earl Sapp.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Cindy Sapp Tomlinson of Hoboken; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Paul “Rob” & Ashley Tomlinson of Kingsland and Brett & Bethany Morgan of Waycross; two daughters, Erica Tomlinson of Mooreville, NC and Amanda Tomlinson of Statesville, NC; his father and step-mother, Wallace & Norma Tomlinson of East Palatka, FL; his mother-in-law, Brenda Sapp of Hoboken; three brothers, Cecil Wallace (Beverly) Tomlinson, Jr. of Bushnell, FL, Lee (Tina) Tomlinson of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Michael (Danette) Tomlinson of Interlachen, FL; a brother-in-law, Terry Sapp and his daughter, Crystal (Andy) Winn, of Hoboken; 5 grandchildren, Tanner Tomlinson, Brenleigh Morgan, Abigail Shepherd, Raegan Faegan, and Kaleb Faegan; and several other nieces, nephews, relatives.

Graveside services for Mr. Tomlinson will be held Thursday morning, August 3, 2023, at 10:00 o’clock from the Hoboken Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Sapp, Ank Jordan, Brandon Ramey, Devin Shipes, Eric Westmoreland, & Tyler Jones.
