Mr. Robert Lloyd “Robbie” Scott, III, 75 of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning, August 31, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Blackshear, GA on November 9, 1944, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Mr. Scott was a 1962 graduate of Blackshear High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton. He was retired from Pierce Timber Company and was a member of First Baptist Church – Blackshear – where he had sang in the church choir. Mr. Scott had also sung in Barbershop Quartets for years. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and shrimping and dearly loved his family.
He was the son of the late Robert Lloyd & Ora Lee Roberts Scott, Jr. He was also preceded in death by both of his sons, James Ardemus “Ardie” Scott and Jon Alexander Scott; and by his grandson, Jon Alexander Scott, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Anna Scott Strickland of Blackshear; his granddaughter, Rinzi Strickland of Blackshear; the mother of his children, Brenda Dixon Scott of Blackshear; three cousins, Debra (Tracy) Sinclair of Blackshear, Donald Scott of Blackshear, and Johnnie (Judy) Scott of McDonough; and several other relatives and friends.
The family will have a private service for Mr. Scott at a later date.
Memorialization is by cremation.
