Mr. Robert Lanny “Bob” Raulerson, 52 of Pierce County, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Bacon County Hospital in Alma.
Born in Waycross, GA on March 4, 1968, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Bob was a 1987 graduate of Pierce County High School and had worked for D. L. Lee & Sons in Alma for over 25 years. He loved watching football – especially the Georgia Bulldogs. He also loved NASCAR with Chase Elliott and even missed the retired drivers, Bill Elliott and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. When not watching football or races you could probably find Bob watching the Barrett-Jackson auctions, hunting when it was the season, or giving his sister, Holly, weather updates or forecasts. He attended Shady Grove Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church and always enjoyed being involved in different men’s ministries. Bob dearly loved his sister and was very proud of his niece, Hannah, and all of her accomplishments – especially being a student at UGA (GO DAWGS!).
Bob was the son of the late Lanny Oscar & Dorothy Ellen “Dot” Cothern Raulerson.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Holly & Greg Belew of Pierce County; his nephew, Christopher Leggett; his niece, Hannah Belew; several other relatives, and numerous friends.
The family will have a private funeral service for Bob at Shady Grove Baptist Church and will visit with family one hour prior to the service.
The family kindly requests those wanting to make a donation in Bob’s memory to do so to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) for it was a very special organization to him in the fight to end childhood cancer.
