Robert Ray "Bob" Harper

Mr.  Robert Ray “Bob” Harper, 75 of Blackshear, passed away early Monday morning, April 12, 2021, at his residence. 

Born in Akron, OH on April 19, 1945, he had lived in Sherman Center, Ohio for 32 years prior to moving to Pierce County in 2013.  Mr. Harper served in the US Army and soon after went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he would retire as a tire builder.  His favorite pastime was being outdoors working in his yard and while still living in Ohio he had enjoyed working on old cars.  Mr. Harper always enjoyed his family vacations to Virginia Beach as well as fishing.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a son of the late Roy Bob & Hattie Mae Smith Harper.  He was also preceded in death by all four of his sisters, Marie Jernigan, Ann Whitely, Leola Der, and Alice Schoen.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lynn Hoffman Harper of Blackshear; two daughters, Heather M. Harper of Blackshear and Holly L. Harper (Tasa Seibert) of Shaker Heights, OH; two sons, Jeffrey P. Harper of Mansfield, OH and Brett A. Harper of Blackshear; a brother, Charles “Sonny” Harper of Copley, OH; two grandchildren, Jayce Rowe and Nhlanhla Seibert; numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored and they adored him; and several other relatives.

The family will have a memorial service in Ohio for Mr. Harper at a later date.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
