Robert Leslie "Robbie" Dixon, Sr.

Mr. Robert Leslie “Robbie” Dixon, Sr., 50 of Blackshear, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, at Memorial Satilla Health.

Born in Savannah, GA on February 8, 1970, he had lived in Savannah for many years prior to moving to Pierce County nine years ago.  Robbie was a 1988 graduate of Groves High School in Garden City.  He had worked for the Westin doing food prep then the Savannah Morning News in the print department prior to working for Southside Telephone and Answering Service where he had been a dispatcher.  He loved to watch football and the races with his son, Little Robbie; was a big George Strait fan, was an excellent cook, and loved to help people.  Robbie was of the Baptist faith and had attended Bridge Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church over the years.

He was a son of the late Carol Jackson & Helen Fay Hayman Dixon. 

Survivors include his son, Robert Leslie “Little Robbie” Dixon, Jr. of Blackshear; three sisters, Debra (James) Hallex and Helen (Howard) Amlesberg all of Ellabell and Vicky Dixon of Waycross; two brothers, Carol Jackson “Buddy” (Darlene) Dixon, Jr. of Blackshear and Billy & Jessica Dixon of Midway; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Robbie will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2020, at 12:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home chapel one hour prior to the service.
