Mr. Raymond Martell “Ray” Jenks, 67 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2021, at his residence.
Born in Alhambra, CA on November 19, 1953, he had lived in Brunswick, GA for many years before moving to Blackshear 8 years ago. Mr. Jenks was a US Army veteran. He was the former owner/operator of RJ & Company and had also worked for Gulfstream in Brunswick. He was an avid athlete, enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, and was a member of Christian Renewal Church in Brunswick.
Mr. Jenks was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Phyllis Devy Jenks and Earl Jenks.
Survivors include his wife, Dianna Lynn McGee Jenks of Blackshear; a daughter, Leah Rekowski of Leesburg, GA; a son, Mathew P. Jenks of Georgia; a step-daughter, Ammie (Allen) Turner of Blackshear; two step-sons, William Bloodworth and Derrick Duane Bloodworth both of Waycross; his biological father, Samuel Raymond (Brenda) Swartz of Nevada; sister, Earline Downs of Arizona; three brothers, Andrew Jenks of California, John Jenks of Arizona, and Bob Jenks of California; a half-sister, Kristina Lynn Clark of Utah; five half-brothers, William Allen Swartz of Texas, Rafe Randell Swartz of Oregon, Daniel Sean Swartz of Nevada, Walter Jared Swartz of California, and Samuel Raymond Swartz, Jr. of Nevada; two granddaughters, Sidney R. Seay and Dallas M. Seay both of Georgia; 2 step-grandchildren, Krista Gardner and Ryan Gadner; and several other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Jenks will be held at a later time.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
