Mr. Philip Lawrence Howard, 84 of Patterson, passed away Saturday evening, August 27, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Blackshear, GA on September 28, 1937, he had lived in Pierce County most of his life. Mr. Howard worked as a sawmill manager at Seaman Timber Company in Alabama before moving back to Patterson in 2003. He enjoyed being outside and doing as much woodwork as he could. He loved his family dearly and will always be remembered as a good daddy. Mr. Howard was a faithful member of Patterson Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was a son of the late Jasper Bert and Annie Pauline Altman Howard. He is also preceded in death by his son, Jason Lawrence Howard; a sister and brother-in-law, Jerri & Talmadge Terry; a son-in-law, Michael Patrick Walsh; and a nephew, Phillip Jasper Terry.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Wanda Rooks Howard of Patterson; a daughter, Pamela Walsh of Canton; 2 special children, Trevor and Heather Brown of Patterson; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Patrick (Mindy) Walsh, John Michael (Allie) Walsh, Addie Brown, and Mollie Brown; 3 great grandchildren, Colin Patrick Walsh, Aiden Michael Walsh, and Bradley William Walsh; a niece, Missy (Randall) Coppolino; a nephew, Greg (Sandra) Terry; and several other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service for Mr. Howard will be held Wednesday morning, August 31, 2022, at 11:00 o’clock from the Patterson Baptist Church with Rev. R.C. James and Greg Terry officiating.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
