Mrs. Peggy Jo Dixon Tennis, 81, of Savannah, passed away Saturday evening, October 10, 2020, at Memorial Health Center in Savannah.
Mrs. Tennis was born on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1939, in Blackshear, and had lived many years in Savannah. Peggy enjoyed sewing and planting flowers. She loved spending time with her family, especially her Grand babies. She enjoyed life.
She was a daughter of the late Pomeroy G. and Idell Altman Dixon. She was also preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Carol and Helen Faye Dixon; two grandchildren, Shana Crozier and Sean Crozier; and a great grandchild, Styles Hughes.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Leonard Tennis of Savannah; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Stephen) Camp, Jr. of Pooler; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Tammy) Tennis of Richmond Hill; a sister, Wanda (Barney) O’Steen of Blackshear; 3 grandchildren, Sheri (Christian) Hughes, Abigail Camp and Hayden Tennis; 4 great grandchildren, Brooklynn Hughes, Kyra Hughes, Ari Hughes, and Remi Hughes; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tennis will be held Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2020, at 12 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Enon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
