Ms. Virginia Pearl Turner Bailey, 77 of Blackshear, passed away early Sunday evening, July 17, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health.
Born in Blackshear, GA on September 4, 1944, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. Ms. Bailey had worked in finance for over 30 years and was retired from First Family Finance where she had been a manager. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Vanessa, and her grand dog, Oliver. She was an avid reader but also enjoyed watching movies on the Lifetime Channel as well as watching The Young and the Restless. Ms. Bailey was the “anchor” & caretaker of her family and was always in charge and considered the “boss”.
She was a daughter of the late Roscoe & Blanche Rosella Strickland Turner. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Sherrod; and two brothers, Lamar Turner and Wayne Turner.
Survivors include her daughter, Vanessa Mobley of St. Simons; her son and daughter-in-law, Rob & Deanna Farish of Frisco, TX; a sister, Deloris Boatright of Blackshear; a brother, Carlton (Jackie) Turner of Blackshear; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Turner of Blackshear; a grandchild, Aidan Farish; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service for Ms. Bailey will be held Wednesday morning, July 20, 2022, at 11 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
Visitation for Ms. Bailey will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Ms. Bailey’s family would like to thank the staff of Harborview Pierce County for their love and devotion shown to Ms. Bailey as well as her family during her time there. You are all greatly appreciated and dearly loved.
