Mrs. Nancy Eloise Bunch Sapp, 83, of Blackshear, passed away Friday evening, December 22, 2023, at her residence.
Born in Homerville, GA on April 4, 1940, she lived in Florida for many years before moving to Pierce County in 1984. Mrs. Sapp had worked for Southern Bell as a telephone operator prior to becoming a homemaker. It was during this time that she began helping her husband with his business, Sapp’s Heating and Air. She would go on to retire from Blackshear Elementary where she had worked in the lunchroom for many years. Mrs. Sapp loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed sewing and was an excellent cook. She also loved to laugh and just enjoy life. Mrs. Sapp was a devoted member of Southgate Baptist Church where she was in the Senior Adult Sunday school class and sang in the adult choir. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as her church and her church family.
She was a daughter of the late James Cummie & Mamie Jo Prescott Bunch, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lawton Sapp; and all five of her brothers, J.C. Bunch, Jr., Joseph Bunch, Foster Bunch, Willard Bunch, and Roger Bunch, Sr.
Survivors include her three daughters, Karen (Kenny) Taylor of Taylors, SC, Susan (David) Justice and Renea Taylor all of Blackshear; her son, David (Evelyn) Sapp of Waycross; her sister, Linda Jeen (John Wayne) Bennett of Waycross; a sister-in-law, Sarah Bunch of Waycross; 6 grandchildren, Keleah, Kateah, Robert, Tricia, Summer, and Leigha; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon from 4 until 6 o’clock.
Interment will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.
