Nancy Annette Howell, 66, of Waycross, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Annette was born January 30, 1960, in Blackshear, Georgia. She spent most of her life in Pierce County before later making her home in Ware County. A devoted homemaker, Annette found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her family, fishing at Paradise Island, going to the beach, and tending to the many outdoor plants and decorations that brightened her home. Those who knew her will remember her love for family, the outdoors, and the quiet happiness she found in the little things.
She was a daughter of the late Eugene Edward Howell and Allie Mae Batten Howell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Howell, and a sister, Amy Howell Dixon.
Annette leaves behind two sons whom she deeply loved and cherished, Michael Loredo of Atlanta and Cecil Terry Marchman of Blackshear. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Howell (Amelia) of Waycross, and her baby sister, Darlene Howell admiringly known as “Sissy,” (partner, Dana McDuffie Dial), of Blackshear.
She also leaves behind her sweet sister-in-law, Nancy Sweat Mock and her memory will continue to live on through her nieces and nephews: Sirena Howell Cady (Trent), Trent Howell Long (Jimmie Nell), Kisha Nicole Williams, Anthony Howell (Nikki), Larry Howell Jr., and Dusty Howell.
Great nieces and nephews, Lexie Howell (Dalton Bowers), Tessa Howell, Tug Williams, Tabitha Cady Barnard (Rocky), Madison Long Sarro (Caleb), Braxton Long, and Ryder Long. She was also blessed with five great great nieces and nephews, Peytan Addison Barnard, Rylan Skylar Barnard, Baker Trent Sarro, Bowen Thomas Sarro, and a precious baby girl who will arrive soon.
Annette also shared a special lifelong bond with her first cousin and dearest friend, Judy Batten Thompson, along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Ms. Howell will be held Monday evening, March 9, 2026, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Pearson Dial funeral home.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is now at peace, reunited with those who went before her.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
