Ms. Mildred Louise Stewart Garrett, 70 of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday morning, June 8, 2022, at Harborview – Pierce County.
Born in Birmingham, AL on March 7, 1952, she had lived in Birmingham, AL prior to moving to Blackshear several years ago. She was a former waitress for Pizza Hut and was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Garrett enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching M.A.S.H, doing knitting and crocheting, and going to church when she was able.
She was a daughter of the late James William & Lyndall Lee Shirley Dyer Stewart. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Robbie; all three of her sisters, Janice Beasley, Carol Stewart, and Joyce Stewart; and a brother, Charles Stewart.
Survivors include her daughter, Brenda Lee (Ron) Hall of Jonesboro; three sons, David (Kimberly) Tidwell of Douglas, Alan (Kristy) Pierce of Jewett, CT, and Charles Perkins Garrett of Blackshear; two brothers, Jimmy Stewart and Daniel Stewart both of Birmingham; 14 grandchildren, Luke Pittman, Zachery Tidwell, Devin Tidwell, Brandin Tidwell, Chasity (Andrew) Davis, Karly (Samuel) Douglas, Eric Tidwell, Breanna Berryman, Anthony Small, Ron Hall, Jr., Alivia Dixie Hill, Layla Paige Hill, Audrey Grace Hill, and Noah Mason Hill; 4 great grandchildren, Sammy, Ahna, Coleton, and Zauge; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
