Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Waldroff Douberly Prewitt, 74, of Patterson, passed away Friday evening, January 3, 2026, at Baptist Village Nursing Home.
Born in Tallahassee, FL on December 29, 1951, she lived in Jeff Davis County prior to moving to Pierce County in 2002. Mrs. Prewitt was a nurse for over 30 years having worked for Tender Care, Inc. as traveling nurse as well as several hospitals in our area and Pierce Home Health. She loved her job and enjoyed going fishing. Being a single mom, Mrs. Prewitt proudly raised her three boys and was devoted to them and her family. She was a member of Carters Chapel Church.
She was the daughter of the late Jake & Irene Cone Waldroff. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wadis Douberly; and by two of her sons, Glen “Bo” Burch and Charles “Chuck” Thomley.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Eugene “Donny” Prewitt of Patterson; her son, Danny Bohannon of Blackshear; 6 grandchildren, Jake Thomley, Cynthia Thomley, Samuel Thomley, Landon Bohannon, Emery Bohannon, and Danielle Lawrence; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Prewitt will be held Monday afternoon, January 5, 2026, at 3:00 o’clock from the Carter Chapel Church with Pastor Kathy Palmer officiating.
The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Carter Chapel Cemetery.
