Margaret Ann (Stafford) Sims

Mrs. Margaret Ann Stafford Sims, 92 of Patterson, passed away Sunday morning, June 6, 2021, at her residence.
 
Born in Spear, NC on March 5, 1929, she had lived in Pierce County for 46 years.  Mrs. Sims was the first in her family to graduate from high school and would go on to teach special needs children for many years.  She had been a devoted Pastor’s wife for many years and dearly loved her family as well as her pet cats.  She was a member of Laura Chapel Baptist Church.
 
She was a daughter of the late Carl & Mabel Estell Davenport Stafford.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Carroll W. Sims, Sr.; an infant daughter, Patricia Ann Sims; a son, James M. Sims; two sisters, Murile Whitcraft and Virginia Grarbeal; three brothers, her twin, Milton Stafford, Jay Stafford, and Roger Stafford.
  
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Frank) Lamon of Hoschton; a son, Carroll (Kay) Sims, Jr. of Patterson; a daughter-in-law, Faye Sims of Patterson; three sisters, Barbara Knauff of York, PA, Dorl (Mark) Squires of Winter Park, FL, and Carlene (Bob) Black of Rock Hill, NC; 6 grandchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Sims of Gainesville, GA, Shane (Dawn) Sims of Owensboro, KY, Corrie Sims of Patterson, Bennie Sims of Patterson; Casey & Megan Cason of Talmo, and Daniel (Lacey) Hardy of Buford; 11 great grandchildren, Sebastion Sims of Gainesville, GA, Rachel Sims and Savannah Sims both of Owensboro, KY, Emma (Sean) Kinsella of Blackshear, Bailey Sims and Ryker Coomes both of Patterson, Wylie Cason of Talmo, Tristan Hardy, Kiersten Hardy, Gabe Hardy, and Dakotah Hardy all of Buford; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
 
Graveside services for Mrs. Sims will be held Wednesday morning, June 9, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.
