Mabel Gates Obituary

Mrs. Mabel Lenora Peters Gates, 100 of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, August 28, 2020, at Harborview of Pierce County.

Born in Pardoe, PA on July 8, 1920, she had lived in Georgia for the past ten years. Mrs. Gates was a homemaker and was of the Catholic faith. She loved her family and enjoyed reading all kinds of books.

She was the daughter of the late Robert G. & Mary Strausser Peters. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Filer, and by her second husband, Ralph Gates.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald (Paula) Filer of Largo, FL and Richard (Barbara) Filer of Dallas, GA; 10 grandchildren; and several other relatives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
