Mrs. Lois Lavonne Groover Proctor, 82, of Blackshear, passed away late Wednesday evening, September 3, 2025, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Born in Folkston, GA on December 15, 1942, she lived in Washington, DC for several years before moving to Pierce County in 2003. Mrs. Proctor was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, antiques, and collecting dolls. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was a daughter of the late Boaz & Willie Mae Grifin Groover. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Charles Proctor; and by her brother, Larry Groover.
Survivors include her son and a daughter-in-law, James Charles “Jimmy” & Brooke Proctor, II of Murphy, TX; two sisters, Janice Groover of Folkston and Karen (George) Baron of Rosenberg, TX; 2 grandchildren, Kylie Raya Proctor and Nathan Stone Proctor; an aunt, Edna Wallace of Franklin, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Graveside services for Mrs. Proctor will be held Monday afternoon, September 8, 2025, at 3:00 o’clock from the Shiloh Cemetery.
