Ms. Linda Fay Kirkland, 79 of Blackshear, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Blackshear, GA on August 26, 1942, she had lived in Pierce County all her life. Ms. Kirkland had been a candler for United Egg for many years and was a member of the United Pentecostal Truth Tabernacle. She loved her church family as well as singing and also dearly loved her family and spending time with them, especially with her nieces and nephews who called her Da Da.
She was a daughter of the late Malcolm Kirkland and Marion Nadine Sweat Whitley. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Whitley and Johnny Whitley.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Allman of Blackshear, Pat (Richard) King of Patterson, and Helen Whitley of Blackshear; four brothers, Kenny (Rita) Kirkland of Savannah, Billy Whitley of Blackshear, James Whitley of Blackshear, and David (Karen) Whitley of Blackshear; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Ms. Kirkland will be held Sunday afternoon, March 6, 2022, at 3 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel with Rev. Charles Jury officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
The family will have a private graveside service for Ms. Kirkland with Rev. Matt Griffis officiating.
