Mrs. Lillian Juanita “Nita” Oliver Adams, 92 of Brantley County, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Baptist Village Nursing Home.
Born in Dothan, AL on October 19, 1928, she had lived in Brantley County since 1971. Mrs. Adams was a minister’s wife for nearly 60 years and was known for having a true servant’s heart due to her willingness to always help others. She was also a hard worker no matter what it was she was doing. Mrs. Adams enjoyed crocheting, working in her yard, decorating with flowers (she could have been a florist) and going to the beach. She was a member of Satilla Baptist Church in Hortense where she also attended the ladies Sunday school class.
She was a daughter of the late J. E. & Minnie Beatrice Hughes Oliver. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Rev. James Robin Adams; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Peggy Adams Strickland (Cary Carter) of Hortense; one son, David Ellie Adams of Hortense; 3 grandchildren, Carey Elizabeth (Cale) Flowers, Erin Camille (Jarrett) Johns, and Paul Gregory Adams; five great grandchildren, Abbey Flowers, Caylen Flowers, Riley Johns, Autry Johns, and Evan Adams; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Graveside services for Mrs. Adams will be held Wednesday afternoon, September 15, 2021, at 3:00 o’clock from the Satilla Cemetery in Hortense.
Visitation for Mrs. Adams will be held at Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, September 14, 2021, from 6 to 8.
