Mr. Lester Ollin Woodard, 69, of Blackshear, passed away late Thursday evening, June 6, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Clermont, FL on January 12, 1955, he had lived in Blackshear since 1989. Mr. Woodard retired from Allen Grove Service where he had worked in grove maintenance. He loved fishing and camping as well as being with his family, watching wrestling, building/fixing things, and helping others any way he could. Mr. Woodard attended Living River Church of God.
He was a son of the late William Ollin & Ruby Alice Combee Woodard. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Blake Strickland; two sisters, Geneva Bostick and Shirley Byrd; and three brothers, David Woodard, Melvin Woodard, and Buddy Woodard.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sheelia Merritt Woodard of Blackshear; four daughters, Teri (Marc) DiBiase and Patty (Leon) Johnson all of Blackshear, Christie Wilson (Clay Dowda) of Waycross, and Farrah (Billy) Barber of Jesup; a son, Lester “Bubba” Woodard of Blackshear; two sisters, Oveida Melton of Blackshear and Mable Daughtery of Starke, FL; two brothers, Harvey Woodard of Waycross and Alvin Woodard of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren, Chelsea Strickland, Will Strickland (Karlee), Wade DiBiase, Tyler Tanner, Leland Johnson, Gracie Johnson, Taylor Wilson, Ashlyn Woodard, Cedes Woodard, Mallory Soto, and Nevaeh Woodard; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Woodard will be held Monday morning, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 o’clock at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor R. B. Gaskins officiating.
Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hoboken.
Visitation will be held in the chapel one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Marc DiBiase, Wade DiBiase, Lester Woodard, Will Strickland, Carl Strickland, and Leland Johnson.
