Kimberly Michel "Kim" (Cunningham) Cason

Mrs. Kimberly Michel Cunningham Cason, 54, of Blackshear, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024, at her residence.

Born in Waycross, GA on February 9, 1970, she lived in Ware and Pierce Counties all her life.  Mrs. Cason was a 1988 graduate of Waycross High School and worked as an engineer for CSX Transportation for several years.  She was currently a homemaker.  Mrs. Cason loved going to Jekyll Island which she called her “happy place”.  She never met a stranger and would talk to anyone who would stand still long enough to find out where they were vacationing from.  Several of those “strangers” have become like family to her.  She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by a nephew, George David Cunningham, III.

Survivors include her husband of 9 years, Raymon Cecil “Ray” Cason, Jr. of Blackshear; three stepsons, Keith (Morgan) Cason of Blackshear, Carl (Emily) Cason of Coco Beach, FL, and Jeffrey (Teressa) Cason of Blackshear; her parents, George, Sr. & Shirley Cunningham of Waycross; her brother, George David Cunningham, Jr. of Augusta; 6 grandchildren, Kiley, Alex, Sidra, Evelyn, Caleb, and Emma Cason; a niece, Payton Leah Cunningham; a nephew, Joshua Lee Cunningham; special cousins, Marty (Stephanie) Cox of Blackshear; a special friend, Kay Sims of Patterson; and several other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. Cason will be held Monday morning, September 9, 2024, at 10:00 o’clock at the Enon Cemetery.

The family kindly requests nurses with Georgia Hospice Care to serve as honorary pallbearers.  Please meet at the cemetery by 9:45 Monday morning.
