Katie Frances (Manders) Goble

Katie Frances Manders Goble, 92, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the Hospice House in Waycross.

 Born Tuesday, September 4, 1928 in Elijay, GA she was the daughter of the late William Henry Manders and Beula West Manders. She lived most of her life in Pierce and Ware counties. She worked at the Spatola Shoe factory and the Julie Hat Company for many years. Katie was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Bristol Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher L. Goble; a son, Jackie Lamar Goble; a daughter, Peggy Jane Goble; a great granddaughter, Mattie Elizabeth Goble; five brothers, Earl Manders, James Manders, Ray Manders, Paul Manders, and Eugene Manders; three sisters, Bernice Murray, Vera Ruth Norman, and Eula Mae Miller; and a son-in-law, Roy Murphy Sapp.

Survivors include her daughter, Margie Sapp of Patterson; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Goble of Jacksonville, Bobby (Barbara) Goble of Waycross; five sisters, Eunice Pittman of Indian Head, MD, Lucy Rodriguez of San Diego, CA, Katherine Norman of St. George, Susie Kurtz of Valdosta and Annette Manders of Marietta; two brothers, Cecil (Norma Jean) Manders of Blackshear, Johnnie (Vernell) Manders of Waycross; 8 grandchildren, David Mark Sapp, Marsha “Peanut” (Kris) Towers, Scott (Jennifer) Sapp, Gi Gi Goble, Rob (Tina) Goble, Cindy (Eric) Hartley, Amber (Eric) Dyer, and Alissa (Eric) Martin; 12 great grandchildren, Kristopher Murphy Towers, Kaitlyn Towers, Kristen Towers, Austin S. Smith,  Brett Matthew Sapp, Allyson Sapp, Millie Goble, Tate Goble, Hayli (Tyler) Sellers, Zoie Dyer, Kadon Dyer, and Payne Tillman; 2 great, great grandchildren, Jo Jo  Sellers, and Mila Sellers; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Goble will be held Saturday morning, November 14, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Goble will be held at the chapel one hour prior to the service.
