Julia Anne "Judy" (Pearson) Courson

Mrs. Julia Anne “Judy” Pearson Courson, 75 of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning, June 26, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs.
 
Born in Brunswick, GA on April 3, 1946, she had lived in Pierce County all her life.  Mrs. Courson was retired from Commercial Tire where she had been secretary for many years.  She was an active member of St. Johns United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Courson loved spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, and doing things for others.  Her daughter and grandchildren were the light of her life.
 
She was a daughter of the late Ira Meldrim & Lois Walker Pearson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Revis Daniel Courson; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Strickland; and by her sister, Donna Sue Hill.
  
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Lonnie Strickland of Mershon; two grandchildren, Logan Strickland and Jalynn Strickland; 2 sisters-in-law, Angela (Ricky) Sheffield and Agnes (Phillip) Nichols all of Blackshear; a brother-in-law, Travis (Diane) Courson of Blackshear; a special life-long friend, Kathy Lee of Blackshear; special cousins, Mitch (Glenda) Davis of Gainesville, FL; her traveling partner and cousin, Debra Mixon of Micanopy, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
 
Funeral services for Mrs. Courson will be held Wednesday morning, June 30, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
 
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
