Judith Ann James Harris, 79, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Blackshear, GA on May 9, 1946. She grew up in Blackshear before moving to Atlanta in her teens. She graduated from Gordon High School in Atlanta in 1964 and from Crawford W. Long Hospital of Histology in 1965.
She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Harper James and Jewel Oden James. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Harris, her brothers, Larry K. James, Harvey James, an infant brother Jewel Oden James, Jr.
Judy leaves behind a daughter, Andrea Boatright; 2 grandsons, Will Ritch and Harris Ritch; granddaughter, Maggie (Matt) Simmons; Cole Harris and Sally Harris (Lawton O’Berry) whom she loved like grandchildren; four great-grandsons, William Bennett Ritch, III, Brysen Reid Ritch, Porter Aven Ritch, and Reid Cason Simmons; nephews, Greg James, Lance (Pam) James, and nieces, Camille J. Hendry, and Jennifer (Dan) Strickland.
Memorialization is by cremation. A service will be held at a later date.
