Mr. Joseph Michael Peacock, 49 of Pierce County, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 29, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Alma, GA on April 22, 1971, he had lived in Pierce County all of his life. Michael was a 1989 graduate of Pierce County High School and had worked for the Department of Corrections as well as CSX Transportation prior to becoming a Lineman and working for Sumter Utilities. He loved fishing and hunting, watching college football, and was a Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan. Michael loved being with his friends and having a good time and his funny personality always made him the life of the party. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian “Vickie” Lee Thornton Peacock.
Survivors include his son, Tyler Peacock of Blackshear; his father, Joseph Daniel “Joe” Peacock (Janice Thornton) of Blackshear; two sisters, Pam & Bryan Smith and Penny Peacock all of Blackshear; three nieces, Sydney Peacock, Josie Johnson, and Brooke Smith; a great nephew, Westen Lake Hayes; a great niece, Stella Jade Hayes; and several other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Michael will be held Saturday morning, September 5, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock from the Beulah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
