John Yovu Obituary

 

Mr. John Alexander Yovu, 76 of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning, April 12, 2021, at his residence.

Born in Leeds, England on February 9, 1945, he had lived in Florida for many years prior to moving to Georgia in the late 70’s.  Mr. Yovu was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served in the US Marines.  He was retired from Georgia Power where he had been an operator and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He was a son of the late George & Mary Breare Yovu.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Gayle “Judy” Royal Yovu.

Survivors include his son, Scott Daniels of Jesup; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Peter & Edie Yovu of Waterville, VT and David Yovu of Nahunta; two grandchildren, Jordan Daniels (Morgan Taylor) and Ashley (Mitch) Williams; four great grandchildren, Braden Daniels, Damien Williams, Anakin Williams, and Paisley Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

As per Mr. Yovu’s request, there will be no public service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
