Mr. John Arch “Jr.” Sapp, Jr., 94 of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning, January 17, 2022, at Jesup Health & Rehab.
Born in Patterson, GA on December 13, 1927, he had lived in Patterson all of his life. Mr. Sapp was a life-long farmer and was also a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was a son of the late John Arch & Allie Mae Carter Sapp, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Walker Sapp; by a son, Robin Lee “Robbie” Sapp; a sister, Ophelia Jacobs; and three brothers, Murphy Sapp, Parnell Sapp, and Robert Sapp.
Survivors include his son, Gary (Michelle Tootle) Sapp of Ludowici; three sisters, Carolyn Dangerfield and Agnes (Grady) Strickland all of Blackshear and Betty Mae Sweat of Jacksonville; a brother, James Edward “Cotton” Sapp of Patterson; sister-in-law, Margie Sapp of Patterson; 2 grandchildren, Kimber (Pee Wee) Fowler and Weyman (Amanda) Chapman, Jr.; 4 great grandchildren, Kinslee Chapman, Max Chapman, Case Lee Fowler, and Tilly Kate Fowler; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Sapp will be held Friday afternoon, January 21, 2022, at 2 pm from the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Sapp will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Active pallbearers will be Pee Wee Fowler, Weyman Chapman, Eddie Sapp, Scott Sapp, Mike Sweat, Brett Sapp, Rodney James, and Case Lee Fowler. Please meet at the church by 1:30 on Friday afternoon.
