M. John Keith Brooks, 55, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday morning, June 2, 2020, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.
Born in Albany, GA on September 16, 1964, he had lived in Blackshear most of his life. Mr. Brooks was a 1983 graduate of Pierce County High School and went on to serve in the US Army for which he was very proud of. He was a member of First Baptist Church – Blackshear. Keith never met a stranger and always went out of his way to make people happy. He loved his family and loved telling jokes but couldn’t deny the Brooks “hard-headed streak”.
He was the son of the late John Henry & Majorie Janice McDonald Brooks.
Survivors include his sister, Lisa McMurphy (Tom Starling) of Blackshear; a niece, Korey Falvo of Atlanta; two special friends, Marilyn Waters and Steve Boatright both of Blackshear; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Brooks will be held Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2020, at 2:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
