John Clark Obituary

Mr. John Allen “Johnny” Clark 74 of Patterson, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

Born in Blackshear, GA on July 22, 1947, he had lived in St. Marys for a few years before returning to Pierce County. Mr. Clark was a 1965 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam conflict. He worked in law enforcement for the City of Patterson for a short time before going into the construction business. Mr. Clark has spent the last few decades building homes in the St. Marys/Kingsland area as well as here locally in Blackshear, Patterson, and Waycross.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he was a deacon and former Sunday school teacher.  Mr. Clark had also helped build Pleasant Hill Baptist.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his family especially his grandsons, Jacob and Noah.  He and Jacob enjoyed fishing together and Noah was his little snuggle buddy.

Mr. Clark was a son of the late George Allen Clark & Deliah Lorene Murray Clark Waters. 

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sandra Sinclair Clark of Patterson; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy & Suzanne Clark of Patterson; three sisters, Earline Strickland, Ann (Stanley) Bennett, and Glenda (James I.) Dowling all of Blackshear; a brother, Jimmy (Faye) Clark of Blackshear; two grandchildren, Jacob Clark and Noah Clark.

Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held Tuesday morning, November 2, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.

The family will be receiving friends at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

The family kindly requests the Deacons of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, PO Box 542, Patterson, GA  31557.
